Bombay Brasserie unites the flavours of India this Ramadan

Bombay Brasserie, Taj Dubai’s award winning Indian designer kitchen presents a carefully crafted Iftar experience that pays homage to traditional Ramadan dishes still savoured in the iconic Indian cities of Delhi, Lucknow, Hyderabad and Mumbai.  Guests will be immersed in this culinary tale of gastronomic discovery, to uncover a unique taste of India and an alternative way to break the fast this Ramadan.

The specially prepared Iftar meal offers a gourmet tribute to the flavours and classic dishes savoured throughout the holy month in the cities of Delhi, Lucknow, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Guests can relish a variety of delights beginning with a delicate palate cleanser, ‘Gur Ka Sharbat’ a palm sugar sweetened refresher that has been a staple of many Iftars in the city of Delhi since 1947. This is followed by a series of mouthwatering spice-infused bites, such as the ‘Dahi Gujia’, soft lentil dumplings with fresh yoghurt, ‘Sarojni Nagar ke Pakode’ and ‘Purani Delhi ki Nihari’ (braised lamb shanks) from Matia Mahal Street (opposite Jama Masjid).

From the spice infused land of Nizams (Hyderabad), guests can bite into a slow-cooked ‘Kache Gosht (Mutton) Biryani’ inspired by the Charminar area or savour a traditional ‘Haleem’ (lamb stew with oats and caramelized onions).

From the wondrous city of Lucknow, Bombay Brasserie ignites taste buds with ‘Dora Kebabs’ (minced lamb kebabs encased with twine) or the ‘Murg Angara’ delicately smoked in a tandoor.

The journey of course would be incomplete without delicacies from Mohammed Ali Road in Mumbai including the ‘Paya Shorba’ (lamb trotter’s soup) and some Chicken Laziz (chicken thighs in a pepper and tomato sauce).

Conclude your iftar with choice delicacies like a comforting ‘Phirni’, a freshly ground rice and milk pudding or the sticky and sweet, ‘Mawa Jalebi’, a syrup soaked fried funnel cake, providing a perfectly satisfying finish.
